In my mail-in db the New message button creates a new email, but doesn't send the email from the db owner (the mail-in db name).

However, if I have a categorised view in my mail-in db and have a category selected and then use the new message action the email does get sent from the mail-in name, sent by the current user. This is how I expect it to work in all cases, 'normal' mail files work like this (eg for PAs sending from managers' mailfiles)

The only difference is that the mail-in db name is not a real user, but it is a hierarchical name, and as I say it can work in certain circumstances
